Panchayat

A panchayat is an assembly of elected representatives entrusted with the administration of Panchayati Raj institutions. In relation to a gram panchayat, it is the primary committee that implements the decisions of the gram sabha and carries out day-to-day governance. The main components of a panchayat are as follows. The President is the head of the panchayat. They preside over meetings and supervise the overall functioning of the panchayat. The Vice President takes charge in the absence of the President. Ward members are representatives elected from each ward of the panchayat.Standing committees are subcommittees formed to facilitate specific matters such as finance, development, welfare, health, and education.

Mulakuzha is a village panchayat included in Chengannur block in Chengannur taluk of Alappuzha district. The area of the panchayat is 22.67 square kilometers. Mulakuzha village panchayat is located at the southeastern edge of Alappuzha district, sharing a border with Pathanamthitta district. Unlike other areas of Alappuzha, this area is full of hills and small streams. Located about 50 kilometers from Alappuzha, the village panchayat is bounded on the north by Chengannur Municipality and Aarannmull panchayat, on the south by Kulnad and Vennmani panchayats, on the west by Ala panchayat, and on the east by Mezhuveli and Aarannmull panchayats.
